PRS Divisions and Categories
The PRS has three Bolt Gun Divisions. All shooters must declare the Division in which they will be competing when they register for the PRS. Shooters are permitted to shoot in multiple Divisions in the same season. They however, must register for all Divisions as 5 in which they choose to compete. It is imperative for shooters to ensure they are registered in the correct Division for all matches if they plan on competing in multiple Divisions. It is the shooter’s responsibility to ensure they are scored in the correct Division. Failure to do so will result in a Match DQ. The following rules govern each of the divisions. PRS Regional Series Matches are encouraged to follow the same PRS Divisions and Categories but the only Division that is required is the Open Division. PRS Regional Series MD’s are encouraged to follow the Caliber, Speed and Weight restrictions of the National Two Day Matches. These restrictions can be modified on a case by case basis with notification and approval from the PRS Regional Director.
2.1 Bolt Gun – Open Division
2.1.1 Bolt Gun Open Division rifles will not exceed a caliber of .30 or a velocity of 3,200 fps. A match DQ will result any rounds over the speed limit of 3,200 fps (+/- 32 fps for environmental factors and equipment discrepancies).
2.1.2 Match Officials may request at any point during a match that a competitor fire their rifle through chronograph. If the bullet exceeds the 3,200 fps speed limit, the shooter will receive an automatic match DQ.
2.2 Bolt Gun – Tactical Division
2.2.1 Tactical Division rifles are restricted to .308 Winchester and 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington calibers only. 2.2.2 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington has a bullet weight cap of 77 grains and muzzle velocity cannot exceed 3,000 fps (+/- 30 fps for environmental factors and equipment discrepancies).
2.2.3 7.62 NATO/.308 Winchester has a bullet weight cap of 178 grains and muzzle velocity cannot exceed 2,800 fps (+/- 28 fps for environmental factors and equipment discrepancies).
2.2.4 No modified wildcat rounds such as the .223 Ackley Improved are permitted to shoot in the Tactical Division. Anyone discovered violating this rule will receive an automatic Match DQ.
2.2.5 Tactical Division shooters will shoot the exact same COF as Open Division
2.3 Bolt Gun – Production Division
The PRS Production Division was created to encourage growth to our shooting community from outside our ranks by allowing shooters the opportunity to compete in PRS events without being disadvantaged due to equipment. In order to accomplish this we have set limits on the original cost of your rifle and the optic. All other equipment that can be mounted to or added to your rifle that doesn’t significantly increase accuracy will be considered accessories and will not be regulated. We want shooters to be able to buy new equipment or pick up a new item off a prize table and be able to use it without the fear of being disqualified from the Production Division.

HOOFDSTUK 2. WAPENS, UITRUSTING EN MUNITIE 2.1.
Wapen
2.1.1. Discipline PG50 KKG: Mondingsremmen1 of andere hulpmiddelen die een vergelijkbare werking hebben zijn niet toegestaan.
2.1.2. Disciplines PG300/100 Open en PG300/100 TR: Een mondingsrem1 is toegestaan. Deze dient geen overmatige last aan medeschutters te veroorzaken. 2.1.3. Een flimmerband is toegestaan.
2.1.4. Actieve koeling van de loop door geforceerde lucht of vloeistof is niet toegestaan. 2.1.5. De loopmonding dient minimaal 4 cm voorbij de kolf te steken. Buiten een mondingsrem, vlamdemper of een ring voor bevestiging van een flimmerband mogen er geen onderdelen voorbij de loopmonding komen. Alle onderdelen dienen degelijk en veilig te zijn gemonteerd.
2.2. Richtmiddelen
2.2.1. De vergroting van de richtkijker is vrij en een verlicht richtkruis is toegestaan. Geadviseerd wordt een vergroting van minimaal 18 keer, anders zijn de visueels onvoldoende zichtbaar. 2.2.2. Geen licht- emitterende hulpmiddelen. 2.2.3. Geen red-dot, holografische of andere richtmiddelen zonder vergrotende werking. Dit i.v.m. het niet zichtbaar zijn van de schijf.
2.3. Trekkerdruk
2.3.1. Disciplines PG300/100 Open en PG50 KKG: trekkerdruk vrij, mits veilig. Trekkerversnellers zijn toegestaan.
2.3.2. Discipline PG300/100 TR: de trekkerdruk moet minstens 1 kg zijn. Trekkerversnellers zijn niet toegestaan.
2.3.3. Indien een wapen afgaat bij het sluiten van de grendel, zonder dat de trekker bediend wordt, kan leiden tot een diskwalificatie en onmiddellijk staakt vuren voor de betreffende schutter. 1 De mondingsrem is een onderdeel van een vuurwapen dat ervoor zorgt dat de opslag en/of terugslag die optreedt wordt verminderd door de in voorwaartse richting vrijkomende kruitgassen in een andere richting af te wenden. PG-SWR v19-06 6 2.4. Gewicht
2.4.1. PG300/100 Open:
Het gewicht per wapen, inclusief alle accessoires als richtkijker, tweepoot, magazijn, flimmerband, mondingsrem enz., is maximaal 10,00 kg.
2.4.2. PG300/100 TR:
Het gewicht per wapen, inclusief alle accessoires als richtkijker, tweepoot, magazijn, flimmerband, mondingsrem enz., is maximaal 8,25 kg. 2.4.3. PG50 KKG: Het gewicht per wapen, inclusief alle accessoires als richtkijker, tweepoot, magazijn, flimmerband enz., is maximaal 8,00 kg. 2.5.
Munitie
2.5.1. PG300/100 Open:
Centraal vuur nitro munitie t/m 8mm is toegestaan. 2.5.2. PG300/100 TR: Alleen .223 en .308Win is toegestaan. 2.5.3. PG50 KKG: Alleen .22 randvuurmunitie met loden kop of andere zachte legering is toegestaan. 2.5.4. In het algemeen geldt dat slechts zijn toegestaan de voor het betrokken geweer geëigende patronen met: – Een kruitlading, die door soort en hoeveelheid uitsluitend is bedoeld het projectiel zonder gevaar voor de schutter en – uitgezonderd in de richting van het doel – voor zijn omgeving, de loop te doen verlaten; – Een uiterlijk zichtbaar projectiel; – Projectielen, niet voorzien van een lichtspoor- brand- of explosieve lading.
2.5.5. Mits tevens voldoend aan het voorgaande is het gebruik van herladen munitie toegestaan.
2.5.6. Indien de schutter met veel kracht zijn grendel/afsluiter moet openen of sluiten dan dient deze per direct aan de wedstrijd te worden ontnomen. Met klemmende munitie zal de schutter niet worden toegestaan om verder te schieten.
2.5.7. Bij meerdere weigeraars zal de schutter niet worden toegestaan om verder te schieten.
2.6. Accessoires/Kleding
2.6.1. Toegestaan zijn: Baankijker, Timer (mits deze geen geluid maakt), Schiet- of veiligheidsbril (sterk geadviseerd, maar eigen verantwoordelijkheid), gehoorbescherming (verplicht), Pet, Zonne-breeklens voor richtkijker (mits deze niet voor de voorzijde van de loop uitsteekt).
2.6.2. Een schietmat is toegestaan. Afmetingen zoals breedte en lengte zijn vrij mits deze geen hinder vormt voor andere schutters, wel dient de schietmat binnen het schietpunt te passen. De schietmat mag maximaal 3 cm dik zijn. Er mogen geen voorzieningen of aanpassingen zijn gedaan om de schiethouding te bevorderen.
2.6.3. Kleding met een ondersteunende of verstevigende werking zijn niet toegestaan. Hieronder vallen o.a. schietjas en –broek, riem, schoenen en handschoenen. 2.6.4. Voor schutters met classificatie en/of doktersverklaring bestaat de mogelijkheid om een schietjas te gebruiken.
2.6.5. Externe apparatuur ter bevordering van het schot of het zicht zijn niet toegestaan. PG-SWR v19-06 7 2.6.6. Geen elektronica op het schietpunt m.u.v. elektronische gehoorbescherming mits deze geen externe communicatie toepast en timer/horloge/telefoon mits deze geen waarneembaar geluid produceert.
2.6.7. Windmeters en/of -vlaggen zijn niet toegestaan. Windvlaggen zijn alleen toegestaan op buiten banen.
2.6.8. Apparatuur of accessoires die een oneerlijk voordeel geven aan de schutter zijn niet toegestaan.
